OVERVIEW

Amy’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling. She has experience preparing and prosecuting patents in a broad range of technologies, including software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, image/video processing, networking, wireless communications, wearable technology, fintech, medical devices, and signal processing. Leveraging her experience in patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, and IP litigation, Amy helps clients develop patent strategies that align with their business goals and turn their ideas into protectable intellectual property with real commercial value.

Amy also has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and litigation. She has helped clients grow their trademark portfolios and build goodwill by advising them in strategic trademark portfolio management (domestic and international), trademark clearance, and enforcement of marks. She has counseled clients through trademark and copyright proceedings before the U.S. District Court of California – Central District (CACD) and in oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).

In addition to her practice, Amy is a regular Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) speaker on intellectual property law. Outside of protecting her clients’ intellectual property, Amy enjoys volunteering for her local dog rescue and bird rescue, riding her Onewheel with her dog, and playing the piano.
