OVERVIEW
Luke is a UK and European Patent Attorney who joined the profession in 2016 after completing undergraduate degrees and a Ph.D. on topics including Life Sciences and Bioinformatics.
Much of Luke’s work in the patent profession has involved computer-implemented inventions (CII), computer systems and hardware, optics and AI-based applications, particularly in the augmented and virtual reality sector.
Luke has a great deal of experience in advising clients on patentability, invention capture, drafting and filing strategies, as well as searching and patent vigilance. Although most of his work relates to patent matters before the EPO and the UKIPO, Luke has also worked with global patent portfolios for clients, with applications in many countries outside of Europe.
In his spare time Luke enjoys running and hiking, mostly to counterbalance his more sedentary interests such as trying new restaurants and keeping up-to-date with the latest cinema releases. In 2019, Luke had the opportunity to run the London Marathon for charity.
