For over 35 years, Jeff has advised clients on the development of their intellectual property strategies and the development of their IP assets. In addition, he helps clients exploit and defend their IP portfolios. Jeff advises clients across a wide range of technology areas, including the electronics, software, financial services, medical device and consumer products industries.
By way of example, Jeff has represented major companies in connection with patent procurement activities for programmable logic devices, disk-drive and memory controllers, consumer electronics, household appliances, medical devices, productivity software.
In particular, Jeff represented Taunton Technologies, Inc. and VISX, Inc. in interference proceedings relating to pioneering laser eye surgery patents, and represented Aerotel, Ltd. in multiple reexaminations of its pioneering prepaid calling card patent.
Jeff began his patent law career in 1982 at the law firm of Fish & Neave where he worked until its merger with Ropes & Gray in 2005, and thereafter worked at Ropes & Gray until the patent practice spin-off of Ropes & Gray to form Haley Guiliano.
In his spare time, Jeff likes to travel with his wife, and enjoys anything to do with science fiction.
