OVERVIEW

Firasat has nearly 20 years of experience representing clients, both in-house and as outside counsel, across various intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution and patent portfolio management. He develops strategic intellectual property management and plans to inform decision-making, product design, licensing, and IP portfolio and asset growth. In addition, he has experience managing patent programs, forming and chairing patent committees, and managing worldwide intellectual property issues for large corporations spanning diverse electrical, mechanical, and software arts technologies.

Firasat also has extensive patent litigation experience. He has managed and worked on all aspects of patent litigations from discovery to trial, including taking and defending depositions and day-to-day case management. In addition to the U.S. federal courts, Firasat has worked on several International Trade Commission Section 337 patent litigations, including corresponding with opposing counsel, Administrative Law Judges, and O.U.I.I. staff and attending hearings.

In addition to his work at the firm, Firasat has developed and delivered seminars and courses on various IP topics at the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.); the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law; Motorola Inc.; Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, India; and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India. He has also led several fireside chats with accomplished CEOs, Founders, and entrepreneurs, facilitating valuable technology, legal, and entrepreneurial insights.
