Sue is a European Patent Attorney and works in the fields of chemistry, materials science, life sciences and general mechanical devices. She has particular expertise in semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, polymers, chemical processes, chemical sensors, inks, steels and medical devices.
Sue has worked for many years in private practice both in the UK and Australia. Her experience working overseas has given her a broad knowledge of patent matters in multiple jurisdictions. Sue’s practice areas include drafting and prosecution of global patent families, freedom to operate opinions, infringement opinions and validity opinions. She acts for a wide range of clients including multinationals, SMEs and universities.
Sue gained her degree in chemistry from the University of Bristol. She was awarded a postgraduate scholarship and continued her studies at the University of Bristol gaining a PhD in organometallic chemistry. Sue is co-author of nine peer-reviewed papers.
Outside of work, Sue enjoys spending time with her young family, playing her cello and running in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
