Kevin is a second career lawyer having worked as an engineer for over a decade in a variety of industries. He subsequently re-trained as a patent attorney admitted to practice in the United Kingdom and at the European Patent Office. Kevin is also one of very few United Kingdom patent attorneys to also qualify as a Solicitor of England & Wales and a California Attorney. His legal career to date has included time at a strategic IP consultancy and most recently as head of the patents practice of an international law firm.
The past five years have seen Kevin develop a niche commercial IP strategy role servicing clients in diverse industries. Kevin routinely advises clients on developing commercialization strategies and putting in place suitable contracts, undertaking pre-investment or acquisition due diligence and complex IP protection, exploitation and enforcement strategies. Kevin also has full litigation practice rights and rights of audience in the United Kingdom and California courts.
This experience has led to Kevin being appointed as lead of Haley Guiliano’s global trade mark practice. His ability to practice directly at the USPTO in relation to trade marks, as well as at the UK Intellectual Property Office has proven invaluable to clients on both sides of the Atlantic and embodies our one firm, transatlantic approach to IP.
Outside of work, Kevin’s time is mostly occupied with family life and spending time with his wife and three children. He has also recently rediscovered cycling and running after a (very) long hiatus and he is looking forward to running the London Marathon and Marathon Des Sable at the next available opportunity.
