Jon’s practice reflects his deep roots in technology and law.  His background includes recent work in computer science, and specifically artificial intelligence and machine learning.  Jon applies this knowledge representing clients in domestic and international patent prosecution, patent litigation support, and intellectual property counseling and strategic planning.  He has written and prosecuted hundreds of patents in a wide range of technology areas including:  computer hardware and software, integrated circuits and semiconductor devices, display devices, semiconductor fabrication and equipment, sensors and other instrumentation, mechanical devices, clean/green technology, and medical devices. 

Jon has also participated extensively in all phases of patent litigation, from pre-filing investigations to fact discovery, trial, and post-trial, and has been involved in a number of cases both in district courts and the International Trade Commission.

Jon has extensive experience in patent analyses, opinion drafting, patent re-examinations, and due diligence investigations.

Prior to Haley Guiliano, Jon co-founded and ran a 10-practitioner patent boutique and practiced at prominent local and international technology law firms.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ikegami was an engineer for both Quantum Corporation and Maxtor Corporation, helping to design and develop hard disk drives.
